Citizens'
VISA Debit Card
- The easy
way to pay for your purchases.
- It's the
card that works like a check, only better!
- Think of
it as your ATM card and your checkbook rolled into one.
How
does Citizens' VISA Debit Card work?
Just present your card, sign the receipt and your
purchase is deducted from your checking account. At ATMs, it
works just like a regular ATM card and requires a PIN.
What
is the difference between Citizens' VISA Debit Card and a credit
card?
Both are accepted
in the same way and at the same places. The difference is that
purchases made with Citizens' VISA Debit Card are deducted directly
from your checking account so there are no interest charges.
How
do I get a Citizens' VISA Debit Card?
Stop at any

Helpful
hints for using your Citizens' VISA Debit Card
- Present
your debit card as you would a regular credit card when
paying for purchases. Always specify it as a "credit" card.
This eliminates the need for using a Personal Identification
Number (PIN). You can make as many of these transactions as
you want each month without charge.
- Be sure
to enter each transaction in your check register and keep your
receipts. You will not be able to use more funds than are currently
available in your checking account, but if you have outstanding
checks, you may still run the risk of overdrafts.
- Remember
that your account balance is only updated at the end of the
regular business day. Deposits made into your account are not
available for withdrawal with your debit card until your
account is updated at 10:00 AM and 5:00
PM each business day. Also, only withdrawals made using a PIN
are deducted immediately.
